First post of the year... Yup, it's a long one :)

*Sigh*

As usual, I have failed to keep up with my New Years resolution. In spectacular fashion it's happened rather early this year :P

Unfortunately for me, my resolution was mostly to stick to deadlines and keep on top of things... Ummm... Yeah not easy for me xD

As you may have already noticed, being the fourteenth... no... fifteenth day of the new year already and no new posts since the beginning of December, I haven't kept to it at all...

Whoops!

Gomenasai *bowing low*

As always, I ask your forgiveness for neglecting the blog yet again. That said, let's move on to the updates :D

Rosa-Bella *whispering* - 'Was that it? Not much of an apology'
Vikare - 'Shh... More than you'd have done. Be more respectful.'
Xue Wei - 'I like that she was sincere. A simple apology goes a long way.'

Ahem... Anyway I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year (sentiments better late than never xD). The Makies certainly got into the spirit with their Crimbo jumpers, as shown in a previous post lol.

Before the holidays I mentioned the Makie Meet in London. After an eventful trip, getting lost and walking in the complete opposite direction for almost forty minutes...

Rosa-Bella *laughing* - 'Pfft... She got lost!
Vikare - 'Like you're one to talk. You have no sense of direction at all.'
Rosa-Bella - 'Hmph! Whatever!'

...I eventually arrived at Makie HQ. Yay!

Everyone was so welcoming and I was finally able to unvail Ro's new costume (which I had to complete the finishing touches to on the train to London haha)

Tada!
Rosa-Bella has officially taken on the persona of the TARDIS from Doctor Who, in an awesome bodice and skirt that I created for her. The piece was inspired by a prototype TARDIS Corset design created by the very talented AliceAndWillow (below).

I'd love to purchase one of their pieces one day :)

Awesome!

Obviously I couldn't duplicate the complete design, as scaling was an issue. I also made some modifications to it, to look the way I preferred it and opted not to include the 'shrug'. I think it turned out really well regardless. But I'll let you judge for yourselves :)

At the meet I got to see first hand how a 3D printer works. So interesting to watch it in action.

My hat off to you...

The lovely MakieLabs team made a few different items for us to see how it works. I loved the little top hats and crowns. Quite notably, so did Ro...

'You may adore me now'

Not quite sure who gave it to her, but I later found a top hat on Vik too. Let's hope this doesn't go to their heads. Oh... Dear... Too late for Ro...

Some of their new friends later got in on the fun as well...

M'Lady... M'Lord...

Quite happily I got to keep the crown and top hat, yay! I really wish I could afford to get one of these printers, they are just awesome :D

Sadly I wasn't able to purchase Ada whilst I was in London, but I came away with a couple of freebies from the prototype/props box. Thanks guys!

The trip was so much fun and despite being late and getting lost, it was totally worth it.

See more pics on my Flickr photostream ;)

Christmas Eve was also exciting. Although the trip was only five minutes down the road from home, I enjoyed a lovely afternoon with my aunt, nephew and neice at the cinema. So much fun taking Amelia to see her first movie. I think she was more excited by the mini cartoon of Mickey Mouse before the main feature than the actual movie itself lol.

Disney's Frozen was awesome. No matter what your age, theirs no denying the beautiful work done on the movie. The imagery and music are stunning. Love that soundtrack and the characters were so much fun. I think I may have another idea for a Makie costume :D

Christmas was a big family event. My brother came around early to enjoy a full english breakfast and open gifts, then we all headed to my Aunt's to watch the neices and nephews open theirs. So much excitement on those little faces, I loved it.

Dinner was different this year, spending it at my brothers house for the first time. He actually cooked! And it was edible too! Now that was a pleasent surprise xD

Well done baby bro

Amongst the chaos of christmas and New Year (wow visitors sure take it out of you), I received a new wig for Bunny Boy. I absolutely love it, but it may need a little tweaking.

It may look mostly pink, but it is actually white with a lilac colour beneath. It sits perfectly, with an extra elastic that holds it tight to the scull, which means the wig cap is not necessary in this case.

At the weekend, I decided it was about time I made a few of his little friends. So... Out came the Fimo. I'm such a little kid :)

Bunny Boy and his Snowbunnies

Just a little photoshop editing... Looking good!

Here's looking at you kid...

Just a little more work and Bunny Boy will be all done... Just those ears to figure out :)

I'll be returning the University next week (how time flies), but I have already spent a couple of days back there this week already. Over the past few weeks I've worked hard on a project and essay, that I finally managed to finish and hand in this past Monday. For once, thankfully, I was on time :)

Nervous (and a little nauseous) but hopeful, I'll be getting my results some time next week. Wish me good luck :)

Well I think that's everything :D

I'll be starting new projects, doing a few new portraits of Ro, completing Xue Wei's makeover and perhaps even purchasing a new Makie in the weeks to come. So keep watching this space for updates xx
