Long Awaited Arrival... Deja Vu? ~ Part 2

Soooo... its been a little while since the last post. 

Sorry all, I haven't abandoned you. Unfortunately I have spent the past week in bed ill, so have not really been able to concentrate on a computer screen long enough to post anything. I'll make up for that now :)

The Sunday before last, ahead of Liu Xue Wei's arrival, I started sewing the white clothes for below his lilac robes. Lovely Vikare was my stand in model, although he wasn't entirely keen on the idea.

I began with the footwear. Xue Wei's shoes are a type of sandal, which really aren't really easy to come by for dolls his size. A pity really, but oh well...

Using foam board, I drew around Vikare's feet and with a sharp scalpel, cut two pieces for each foot. I then sandwiched the pieces together and glued with PVA glue. Once dry, I set about carving the shape further, smoothing the rough edges.

Once I receive the lilac ribbon I have on order, I'll make some straps to keep them on. 

Using Vikare's measurements, I made a simple pattern for the top...

...But I thought it better to use the MakieLabs Jeans pattern as a base for the trousers. Although I did cut a piece for the waistband (shown in picture below) I decided in the end not to use it.

As you have probably noticed from the images, the fabric is rather thin so I was a little worried about sewing on the machine, but I took it slow and the trousers turned out pretty well.

I placed them on Vikare to ensure the shape looked right. You can't see well on the photo, but the trousers are actually quite baggy around the middle. Taking a loop of elastic, I added a simple waistband and they now seem to hold well.

With the trousers ready, I called it a day. The top would be completed at a later time...

Liu Xue Wei has yet to try on the trousers... Whoops still a naked Makie running around... Luckily the weather is warm ;)
