Late updates again... I'm getting a bad reputation for this now aren't I? Oh well... Can't help family trips and emergencies...
Rosa-Bella *muttering* - "Hopeless..."
Alright... Back to Liu Xue Wei's first night in the mad house lol :)
Introductions weren't as strained as I'd thought and surprisingly Xue Wei doesn't seem to mind the nickname Bunny Boy at all. Go figure.
Rosa-Bella - "See I told you so!"
Yes, yes... Anyway the Makies appear to be getting along (for now).
Ok, so I think I failed to mention a couple of other items that were included with Xue Wei that were hidden inside his tube so I had originally thought were missed on dispatch.

| Bits and Bobs... |
First... A bag of bits that will come in very handy when it comes to the modification later on. Essentially, it's pieces of Makie that have for one reason or another failed inspection so are basically scrap and unusable. I'll be using the pieces for practice with the colouring and when choosing the materials best to use.
Second... A full set of different coloured eyes for when I feel the mischief makers need a new 'outlook on life' haha :)

| Black eyed pea... |
 |
| Green with envy... |
 |
| Blue eyed boy... |
 |
| Hazelnutty goodness... |
 |
| Chocolate love... |
 |
| Grey is the only Wei... |
I couldn't help but want to test them out on Xue Wei. The different coloured eyes each have their merits, just love the green, but I think Xue Wei's original grey suits him best from this particular set.
On inspection of Xue Wei after his initial removal from his tube, I found his right leg to be a little stiff to move. After the issues with Ro, I was initially bracing myself disappointment, especially as Xue Wei is one of the latest dolls to have the version 2 body. I needn't have worried, about his joints, but I did find a curious item lodged in his hip joint. After it was removed Xue Wei thankfully seemed to have full movement from both legs.
 |
| An odd find... |
It looks like a grain of rice, only it's a bit bigger and is more of a stone like quality. I think it may be from the buffing process after the doll is printed, when the rough edges are smoothed down. I'll have to remember to ask one of the MakieLabs elves about it some time...
After a little play (it was unfortunately quite late and I was too tired to do anything extensive), Xue Wei joined Vikare and Rosa-Bella to get more acquainted.

| Ro and her boys |
Hmm... I think I may need more furniture...
Wow! How do you go about ordering a "bag o' scraps" from the makie website?!!!
ReplyDeleteUPDATE: Since I left my last comment, the MaikeLab team have re-opened their online store with more varied products. The Bag 'o Scraps can be found at https://shop.makie.me/catalogue/bag-o-scraps_42/
DeleteHope that is helpful :)
Hi Monika. The MakieLabs staff seem to be revamping the store at the moment so some of the usual products aren't on display, but I'm sure if you contact them through their feedback/contact links at the bottom of the site they'll at least be able to tell you when it will go back on sale :)
ReplyDeleteThey're really helpful so don't worry about asking any questions.
